Will o' the Wisp Books is a very small publisher that Louis Jenkins started to self-publish his work.  He has lent the name to several very worthy books and joint projects, but does not read or accept unsolicited manuscripts or proposals for publication.  Most of the books are available from amazon.com or independent booksellers.  There is no affiliation with other distributors except for the Collected Poems which is available from Ingram.

                                TONIGHT THE FULL MOON
                         Rises above Lake Superior,
                         All sad and luminous,
and filling me with joy. How many times
                          have clouds obscured the sky
                          in the last fifty years?
And how many times have I been lucky
enough to see the moonrise like this?

                                                            Louis Jenkins

"I eat Mr. Jenkins' poetry like bread; like a tortoise eats greens and you know he's ill when he don't.  Jenkins is a necessity of survival to any tortoise on this hare brained grand prix derby day winner takes all racetrack of these, our sunset glory dinosauer days."
                                              Mark Rylance
"Louis Jenkins' prose poems document what we have to say, acting out, in the roles of ourselves, our arguments with that barely improbable world (and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to) as we walk around steered by the dopey logic of idiom, providing sport for our neighbors."
                                                Phil Dentinger

Before You Know It
Prose Poems, 1970-2005

“To imagine what it means to be another human being is an act of love. These are poems written by a great lover of the world. Everything in it that stands alone, unobserved and luminous. Solitary people with their solitary destinies.... If there's a native, archetypal American solitude, Louis Jenkins has given us its flavor.”

Charles Simic, Boston Review

"Louis Jenkins picks up the scraps of anyday's events and lets them fall deep into the Underworld.  You can hear them re-sounding long, long after.  I really do love his poems."
James Hillman

“…the true artist pulls aside some comforting, humanly made veil, so that the face of the universe appears for an instant. Artists as distinct as Goya and Basho do that, revealing a face that unsettles us. I honor Louis Jenkins, who is one of the best poets of his generation, for his ability to do that again and again.”
Robert Bly

"...when the weather settles, summer cars begin to appear on country roads and city streets."

"These cars, and the people who care for them, are so telling, and the stories are narrated with
such calm, lyrical efficiency, that I was completely immersed in their world."
